Forensics Project
Reflection
For this project I worked with Sarah, Gabby, and Cole. Although some things seemed kind of boring, overall I think we had fun. I learned a lot about forensics and genetics during this project. For forensics we learned how to collect evidence, and the procedure the police must go through at a crime scene. This included taking pictures, wearing gloves and clean shoe covers, and collecting fibers and fingerprints. As for genetics we learned about different fingerprints, pedigrees, karyotypes, chromosomal disorder, genetic diseases, and blood typing and sequencing. I would like to know more about chromosomal disorders, and how they originate. I would also like to learn how to perfect collecting fingerprints off of other objects. I think our group stayed on task very well, and we were all very happy with our presentation. We all contributed in our own ways, and we were able to manage our time so that we would have time to practice the presentation multiple times. The only thing I would do differently next time would be making a big flow chart that showed how each suspect was connected to Captain Cornball, AKA Thomas Sandstone.
I believe we could have made this project even better. I think we should have been able to collect the evidence from the crime scene. All of the evidence had already been collected for us, but I think it would have been fun to do it ourselves. This could also make it more interesting, because there might be more diversity in which suspect we wanted the arrest warrant for.
